Maximize Holiday Sales: How to Sell More to Current & Past Customers!

Sell more things to current & past customers

We always try and make it rain in these 2 months of the year because we don’t want to leave any money on the table

If you’re following my advice correctly (everything I preach in my emails, FB lives and social media accounts) – then your website should be set up to 1) convert sales and 2) capture emails

The beauty of this system is that your email list grows as a by-product of your traffic

So when we send traffic to our site, we grow our list – which we can then email back to our site to sign up

Now a lot of people do sign up, but you nor I will ever sell to everyone

It doesn’t work that way

For many reasons not everyone will sign up to a subscription box

But that doesn’t mean they won’t buy anything from you

So it’s important to create one-time offers or products you can sell to your email list to get free extra money in Nov and Dec.

It’s the perfect time for gifting, people are willing to spend more, and everyone is looking for a great deal on Black Friday

So sell one time boxes, put together double boxes or big gift baskets

One thing to note – you generally don’t want to run ads to one time products – just sell them to existing customers, email leads or past customers

You can do that via email, SMS or even putting an insert in your box this month

Here’s some other things we’ve done that work great.


The yes email

Create a really personal (plain text) email that basically asks the customer to come back, make them a really special offer

Write it as if you were emailing a friend (don’t sound like a brand)

Write the email from the founder and explain you have a great gift for them to re-activate and they simply have to reply yes to get it

Then you manually reactivate their subscription and charge them on your backend

This works great as it is low friction for the customer and super effective to get one time sales or subscribers back

SMS

Do you have a list of phone numbers from past customers? Send them a text with an unbelievable Black Friday deal to either re-activate their sub or buy your awesome one time products.

Limited Time Black Friday Deals

It’s still effective to create an email with a limited time discount or free gift directing people to your store. We like to do free gifts with purchase on Black Friday as 1) it’s different as most people just do boring discounts 2) discounts are usually clearly fake whereas something free is something free and 3) it can have a high perceived value to the customer but not cost you as much as giving money off.
